How could your research contribute to Social Change? After completing your research plan, was there any step/choice you would change along the way and why? How do you think the change might affect your research?

As part of the research process, you conducted in-person interviews, as well as analyzed and analyzed your data through narrative and quantitative processes. Discuss two factors that were important to you your research agenda.
To improve the quality and understanding of society, our research needs to be focused on critical issues that have the power to create social change. I believe my research is a critical piece to addressing the issues that matter most to families. Research could answer some of the questions posed by children/elderly, such as: What is old age like? Is it a good time in life to get older? (I value my elders who have been there before.) How do I know when I need to make an appointment with my doctor? How will insurance companies take me off their list when I turn 65? Being proactive in my ability to address these questions is important for me as a citizen and upcoming mother.
For many women, their clothing choices provide a source for their self-esteem. That’s why our research focuses on the relationship of consumer attitudes and decisions to attitudes and behavior. We want to know why consumer attitudes toward products affect decisions about particular brands. To understand how consumer attitudes affect outcomes in the marketplace, we need to look at how consumer attitudes change over time and whether they influence product selection decisions. Our work has been ongoing for more than 10 years, so your contribution would expand our work by focusing on changes in consumer attitudes and on the behaviors that are influenced by consumer attitudes. +
You’re at the end of your reporting period and are still considering whether you should write a short or a long report. As you look over the work you’ve done and think about how to present it, ask yourself: Are there important topics that didn’t get covered? Does your data provide a fresh perspective on what others have written? Or has my research been an all-around success? Do I feel ready to share these insights with others in a compelling way? About 1 in 3 Americans will get a cancer or some other serious illness over the course of their lifetime, that’s more than 50 million people. That’s why the American Cancer Society (ACS) is focused on uncovering and eradicating the causes of cancer as quickly as possible. Since 1985, the ACS has used its cutting-edge research to develop innovative ways to help fight cancer, such as testing new medicines in clinical trials and using DNA evidence to determine a person’s risk of developing certain cancers. The ACS has the tools it needs to achieve this goal: a staff team with the knowledge and experience needed to translate information into action and simple tools that help ACS researchers do their jobs better. However, because they are so well-respected in the medical community, researchers often choose not to work at less prestigious organizations. When researchers at lesser-known organizations have as strong of a public profile as ACS researchers do, they can dictate terms within their own departments and use access to social networks to their advantage instead of enhancing research itself. That’s why the ACS set aside $10 million for scientific research in 2013. Where is your passion? Where does your heart physically and emotionally call you? Traveling, of course! But, I am more concerned with transforming the world through social healing than spreading my wings and seeing new wonders.
This research proposal idea is a way to let students know how their food choices and lifestyle decisions can impact the environment. This is a perfect social-issue approach because it allows for an interactive learning environment and a chance for them to see the effects of our decisions on people around us. This topic allows students to connect their homework with real-life issues that are so close to everyone’s lives. The research will involve shopping around for different foods, finding out how much it takes to produce each item in terms of energy, water, and farmland, and then making better choices to help reduce consumption of these items. The materials that are needed are two or more grocery bags filled with lots of different kinds of food items (excluding sodas), several tables in different areas of the room (of which they can choose either the dining room table or make their own), a pair of scissors, some mailing labels, various pens with different colored tips (for writing down information), at least two different types of rulers that display millimeters , an inexpensive calculator (to measure the size of each type of ruler), a set of measuring cups, several containers that hold a variety of things (for water, etc.), and at least one large trash can . ______________________
Challenges facing the livestock industry include an increase in competition from imports, unreliable supply of fresh water for grass-fed cattle, a shortfall in land for cattle grazing, and more. These problems have led to fewer people eating meat, which means fewer jobs for all of us and less money to secure our food supply. To address these problems, we are working with local experts to convert pasture land back into production by providing complete grass-fed beef and pork pastures to local farmers. In collaboration with Grassfed Beef Trust, we are building partnerships with dairy farmers who will utilize the pasture land to produce milk and cheese with higher margins. The cows graze on these pastures unfettered by the needs of silage or supplemental feeds like grain. This way of raising beef is sustainable, healthy, humane and economic. We believe that producing quality meat will enable our local community to have greater access to food while providing a good paying job and stable income for farmers and farm workers.”
How can it?
Children are forced to endure dangerous and inhumane labor conditions under the guidance of their parents, whom they rarely see. Some of these children work on farms, others at factory floors or in mines. Their workmates ask them to work overtime and to set up shifts far longer than the 12 hours permitted by law – an existing economic practice that is made possible through the use of child labor and the exploitation of young workers by unscrupulous employers. In all, millions of children around the world risk inadequate living conditions, malnutrition, undernourishment and exposure to multiple dangers each day.
Safety is a hot topic these days, and I am concerned that we are not doing enough to keep our children safe. Adopting the Bigger Carry-On is our way of helping parents and their children stay safe while traveling.
