Looking on a macro level, we can analyze the causes of poverty among older adults and diagnose them at their root. By utilizing research methods such as ethnographic studies, we can find more information about why this is happening and how it can be solved through social policy.
Social scientists research the causes of and solutions to problems such as poverty among older adults in rural communities. They research these topics from both a macro and micro level. Social theory can explain why poverty exists on a macro level. It can include explanations of the many ways that individuals equate to larger systems that contribute to the problem. Poverty among older adults in rural communities can be caused by a lack of education, jobs that leave to urban areas, and a lack of resources in these communities. In order to solve this problem, I believe that we need to invest in scholarships for children who live in these communities. They will either raise the standard of living or move their family out of poverty by getting a better job. I want to use surveys to research where the most need is. This will help me allocate my funds to those who are most affected by poverty and the least able to do anything about it.
