Poverty among older adults in rural communities can be caused by a lack of education, jobs that leave to urban areas, and a lack of resources in these communities. In order to solve this problem, I believe that we need to invest in scholarships for children who live in these communities. They will either raise the standard of living or move their family out of poverty by getting a better job. I want to use surveys to research where the most need is. This will help me allocate my funds to those who are most affected by poverty and the least able to do anything about it.

In the modern world, there are few social problems that are more acute than the issue of financial security. This is true for all ages, but it is especially a concern for older adults. When people age, they often lose physical strength, making work difficult and even dangerous. Likewise, many seniors have health issues that prevent them from working. However, when people age out of their careers, they often find themselves in dire financial straits in retirement, especially in rural areas where employment opportunities may be limited.

We have a serious problem in this country. Older adults in rural communities are suffering greatly, and for the most part, this is unnoticed. I do not believe that there is one single reason for this problem. If we stepped back and looked at the bigger picture, it would be obvious that it can be attributed to several factors that are present. Theories blaming educational development, economic development, or religious values all make some sense, but I believe the issue goes much deeper and extends beyond these attributes to include social behaviors learned through interactions with others over time.
