Medical practitioners are especially prepared to provide feedback on a healthcare organization’s functioning. They have a medical background as well as practical experience working with specific patients and the healthcare system as a whole. In fact, it’s difficult to envision anyone better qualified to lead a healthcare company than those who have worked in the area for a long time.
Furthermore, having medical specialists on the board will assist the organization stay focused on its primary mission: patient care. Any business must maintain a healthy bottom line, but an organization that assists individuals in healing and recovering from injuries cannot do so at the expense of its patients’ health or comfort. Having seasoned medical specialists on the board will assist in balancing those priorities.
