Is a transformation leader the best style of leader for every organizational culture? Why or why not? How does a health care organization determine whether a transformational leadership style aligns with its culture?

answer

A transformational leader, in my opinion, is not the greatest sort of leader for every organizational culture. Some health-care cultures remain very hierarchical, with the leader viewed as the ultimate expert and little to no effort made to encourage subordinates to contribute ideas or take initiative. These cultures, in my view, require authoritative leadership, and this style may still be seen as the most effective approach to lead in some businesses. A transformative leader would probably try to shake things up too much in these businesses, which may be harmful.

A transformational leadership style would be great in an organization with a more egalitarian culture, in my opinion. It would be easier for a transformational leader to make changes and get everyone on board with their new goals and direction in this type of culture because it encourages teamwork and employee involvement.

When I consider whether a transformational leadership style is compatible with a company’s culture, I consider what kinds of changes the company wants to make and how comfortable it is with making them. If they want to keep things the same, a hierarchical leadership style may be the best option. A charismatic leadership style may succeed if they are looking for substantial changes but have members at all levels who may be resistant.
