Effects of meditation on patients with cognitive impairment

Effects of meditation on patients with cognitive impairment

answer

After analyzing results of a recent study, we have come to the conclusion that patients with cognitive impairment may experience improvements in their symptoms if they engage in regular meditation.

In this study, researchers studied a total of 27 subjects who had been diagnosed with mild cognitive impairment, or MCI; this condition is characterized by problems with memory and thinking skills. For this study, the researchers had 10 of these participants meditate for 30 minutes a day for 12 weeks, while the other 17 did not meditate at all. The control group was then measured against the group that meditated after both 12 and 24 weeks.

The findings from this study showed that participants who meditated experienced an improvement in their symptoms after 24 weeks. These symptoms included self-reported measurements such as confusion and memory loss, as well as a decrease in anxiety levels and improvement in moods across the board.
