ELEOT analysis was conducted in a traditional learning environment directed at students. A review of the results reveals that the learning environment had an average score of 2.83 for the seven individual environment ratings. Thirdly, there was an average score of 2.6 for the supportive learning environment rating. Fourthly, there was an average score of 3.0 for the active learning environment rating. The instructor was observed to apply unique strategies to maintain and manage the learning environment. Firstly, the instructor created a learning environment envisioned in both the cognitive and physical spaces. Creating the cognitive space involved setting expectations for the students in terms of procedures and rules, having a motivational climate, and presenting an engaging environment. Creating the physical space involved presenting an inviting and warm environment, with a good classroom environment that had the instructor at the front of the classroom to offer lectures with a writing board. In addition, there were no distracting features in the classroom (Billings & Halstead, 2012). Secondly, the instructor maintained the learning environment through conscientious decisions and focusing on group processes. The specific strategies were keeping the students attentive, shuffling between classroom activities with the right momentum and smoothly while observing the right sequence of instructions and pace. Other strategies were multitasking and communicating an awareness of what each student is doing. There are five engagement and learning strategies that can be applied in a classroom environment to ensure that the learning and program is effective and successful. These strategies focus on making the learners active stakeholders in their own learning. The first strategy is to create and prioritize open communication channels that allow for opinions and feedback to be shared while making it clear that each opinion is heard and valued. The second strategy is to reward learners for engagement by acknowledging their efforts. Rewarding learners occurs through friendly competition between peers that indicates visible personal learning progress from one assessment to the next one so that the learners are motivating to better themselves. For instance, using a leaderboard that showcases high achievers or offering a star/badge for the successful completion of a classroom activity (Stanhope & Lancaster, 2014). The third strategy is being creative with the course content since boredom would cause the learners to lose interest and become disengaged. The focus is on delivering creative and fun to interact with learning context that engage the learners. Examples of such content include video content and infographics. The fourth strategy is to make the learning convenient through applying a learning management approach that convenient available the learning material. For instance, delivering the learning content on smartphone devices that students can easily access. The final strategy is setting clear learning goals. This involves setting and communicating the goals in a language that the learners understand and can relate to so that their attention is captured upon contact. Also, this allows the learners to emotionally invest in the learning from the start.
